Sabres steals game 5 from the Rangers.
The Buffalo Sabres tied the game at 1-1 with only 8 seconds to go in the 3rd period to eventually defeat the New-York Rangers 2-1 in overtime.
Chris Drury tied the game in extremis at 1-1 after Martin Straka have given the lead to the Rangers with only 3:19 to go in the game. Maxim Afinogenov scored the game-winning goal early in the overtime period during a Buffalo power play.
A close call for the Sabres in a very important pivotal point of the series. Instead of facing elimination in New-York for game 6 of the series, the Sabres will have the opportunity to eliminate the Rangers with a victory at Madison Square Gardens.
