Wings wins huge comeback.

The Detroit Red Wings came back from a 2-0 deficit during the 2nd period to defeat the San Jose Sharks in overtime by 3-2. Defensemen Matthew Schneider scored the game-winner during the first overtime period on a power play.

Jonathan Cheechoo and Marcel Goc were able to beat Dominic Hasek and installed the sharks ahead. Thomas Holmstrom scored with only 5 seconds to go to the 2nd period to give hope to the Red Wings for the 3rd period. As the game was winding down, the Sharks could almost taste their 3-1 series lead but with only 34 seconds to go in the 3rd period, Robert Lang evened up the score at 2-2 with a very important goal.

Sharks defensemen Craig Rivet accidently shot the puck in the crowd from his defensive zone during the overtime period and took the fatal delay of game penalty for the Sharks. Schneider capitalized on the occasion and tied the series.

So instead of facing elimination at home during next game, the Red Wings will play Game 5 of the series at home all tied at 2-2. This is the kind of game that shifts a series momentum. Let's see who will win the next game.

Detroit Red Wings 3
- San Jose Sharks 2 (1st overtime)
(The series is tied 2-2) Game 5 in Detroit.
