Ottawa, last canadian hope.
After the elimination of the Vancouver Canucks yesterday from the 2007 NHL playoffs, the only remaining canadian team still in the hunt for the Stanley Cup championship is the Ottawa Senators.
Right now the Senators are in good shape as they managed this week to take a 3-1 lead in their Eastern conference semifinal against the New-Jersey Devils. Ottawa is now only 7 wins away from the holy grail, each win is becoming more and more difficult to obtain during this part of the season. But so far so good for the Sens as they could end their series with the Devils on next saturday night with a win.
Unlike the Vancouver Canucks who looked drained of all of their energy in their series with Anaheim, the Ottawa players still look fresh. The stamina at the end of a season is a major factor in hockey as they played 82 games during the season before beginning the playoff rounds. A good dosage of the effort is very important for any aspiring team.
The playoffs continues tonight with game 5 of the Buffalo Sabres-New-York Rangers series. Both teams are tied at 2-2 in this one.
