Scott Verplank wins the Byron-Nelson.

Scott Verplank has registered a -13 after the four rounds of the 2007 Byron-Nelson championship. Verplank, a Dallas native, played very often with the late Byron Nelson and considered him his mentor.

A great mentor-apprentice story coming full circle. This win counts as his 5th PGA tour victory, and probably his most precious memories in career. Peggy Nelson congratulated Verplank on the 18th hole after he confirmed his victory. She mentioned that the friendship between the two makes this victory special. The winner's purse? A beautiful check in the amount of $1,134 millions. Smile!
