Fatal first period.
The Montreal Canadiens were concluding a four game road trip yesterday as they faced the Buffalo Sabres at the HSBC center in Buffalo.
Montreal played very poorly during the first period and allowed the Sabres to score 3 unanswered goals. The Habs played a little better for the rest of the game but the damage had already been done. Final score: Buffalo 4 Montreal 1.
Habs head coach Guy Carbonneau had moved Michael Ryder on the third offensive line and replaced him by Tom Kostopoulos. The results were awful as the first line didn't produce anything good all game long. So Carbonneau decided to put Ryder back on the first line during the second period.
The Canadiens have to forget this poor game and focus on tonight's game. The Boston Bruins are at the Bell centre tonight and Guy Carbonneau have selected Carey Price, his rookie, to face the Bruins tonight. Some reprters in Montreal are now speculating on when Carey Price will take the No1 goalie spot away from Christobal Huet. Carey Price has won his last 2 starts while Christobal Huet has lost his last 2 starts...
