Leafs dents Habs streak.
The Toronto Maple Leafs sneaked out a win at the Bell centre yesterday evening. It wasn't easy for the Leafs but they came thru.
A great performance from the Leafs goaltender, Vesa Toskala, coupled with an important goal by Matt Stajan late in the game is the story of this 3-2 Leafs victory. In fact, the game itself tipped in favor of the Leafs because Vesa Toskala was more constant than Habs goaltender Christobal Huet.
Huet allowed 2 doubtful goals yesterday evening. Head coach Guy Carbonneau said he was disappointed by those two bad goals allowed.
After keeping the score at 2-2 with a couple of great saves, Huet was beaten by a soft shot that looked like it was tipped on it's way in. Matt Stajan with just over a minute to play in the third period registered the game-winner.
Mike Komisarek and Chris Higgins were the goal scorers for Montreal in a losing cause. The Habs will host the Buffalo Sabres on monday.
