Difficult weekend for Canada.
After the first weekend at the Beijing Olympics, Canada has struggled and deceived. None of the athletes who were competing came close to winning a medal.
The athletes registered in the Judo competition were the closest to a podium finish for Canada while a sixth position was the best result for the relay team at the swimming pool.
It is only a matter of time before a Canadian finishes on the podium. The earlier will be the better for the morale of the delegation. Once the ice will be broken, the team will be on it's way. I expect a first medal for Canada before day four is over.
Today, the most impressive Canadian performance came from our eight rowers who qualified for sunday's final with an impressive heat. A gold medal is not impossible for our excellent rowing team.
During that time, China and the United States have dominated the first weekend. Both countries have already won over ten medals.
