The Hurricanes swept the Northeast division.
The Carolina Hurricanes were in town yesterday night to face the Montreal Canadiens. The Canes allowed an early goal to the Habs but then totally dominated the match to finally win 3-1.
Chris Higgins scored very early in the game to give the Habs a 1-0 lead but that was all the offensive output the team was able to produce. The Hurricanes took control of the game and never gave it back to their opponents.
After 2 periods, the shots on goal was giving a very good indication of where the action was taking place...into Montreal's defensive zone. The shot count showed 30-8 for Carolina at some point... If it wasn't for the Habs goaltender Christobal Huet, the game would've ended 6-1 for Carolina.
The Hurricanes end a very good road trip as they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs, inflicted a first loss to the Ottawa Senators this season to finally beat the Habs yesterday. A perfect Northeast division sweep this week.
Watch out for the Hurricane if it comes into your town.
