Boulerice: 25 games.
Jesse Boulerice of the Philadelphia Flyers has received his punishment today from the National Hockey League for hitting Ryan Kesler of the Vancouver Canucks 2 days ago. Boulerice is sidelined from NHL action for 25 games as of today.
The amount of games equals Chris Simon's 25 game suspension for his ''glorious'' hack at the head of Hollweg during the late stages of last season.
The amount of games for such ugly attacks is now more important compared to past seasons, showing that the NHL punish more severely from now on. But in my opinion, some room for even more games should be considered by the league. I would agree with the league if even a full season of NHL banishment would've been given to Mr. Simon, Boulerice and Downie only to name those later ones popping into my present memory.
So Mr. Betteman, could we see even more severe suspensions to make it sink in among the players?
