The Philadelphia Flyers has won the Daniel Briere derby over the Montreal Canadiens this summer and the effects on their club are tangible.

Daniel Briere scored 2 goals yesterday including the game-winner with under 2 minutes to go in the 3rd period to give the Flyers a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Flames.

The very prolific player will change the face of the Flyers team along with defensemen Kimmo Timonen. The Flyers were out of the playoffs last year but I bet that this year will be a very different season for them.

Montreal will face those Flyers on November 1st... the season will be well begun and it could mark a pivotal point in the Habs season already...
