US Open: a defending champion falls.

The 2007 US Open resumed it's activities as plenty of interesting matchups were scheduled to be played on this beautiful and sunny saturday.

Two upsets worth of mention stand out in the womens draw today. The womens defending champion, Maria Sharapova (2) has been defeated in three sets of 6-4, 1-6 and 6-2 by Agnieszka Radwanska (30) a young and promising player from Poland. So the road of the 2006 US Open champion is halted prematurely in third round.

The same thing happened to another russian player, Nadia Petrova (7) who was defeated by Agnes Szavay by 6-4 and 6-4.
