Hot teams.
The Atlanta Thrashers allows Montreal to stay afloat and not already in a hopeless situation. The Habs are lucky to get so much help around. Twice from the Senators this week and tonight. The Thrashers defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1.
Atlanta is now in a tie with the Tampa Bay Lightning in first position of the Southeast Division.
Marian Hossa with 2 goals said: "Now that we're winning, we have to keep it up."
Hossa registered his 37th and 38th goals of the season.
Atlanta's goaltender Kari Lehtonen faced 35 shots.
Also, a hot and dangerous one right now is the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tonight they won... poor Philadelphia Flyers! 4-3 final score. But more impressive than just a win is their point total and lowest number of games played of the Eastern conference. Should they keep the pace, they could open eyes come playoff time.
With Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Fleury and the new acquisitions, they have the potential of doing damage if the team gets in the zone. Head coach Michel Therrien won a Memorial cup in his career and has reasonable NHL experience.
