Ugly win.
The Montreal Canadiens snapped their three-game losing streak yesterday with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Florida Panthers.
After a goal from Steve Montador during the first period, the Panthers tried to protect their slim 1-0 lead.
The Canadiens did not look very good for 50 minutes, unable to beat goaltender Tomas Vokoun for the major part of the game.
A bouncing puck that got away from Vokoun allowed Christopher Higgins to push it in the net, tying the game at 1-1. A very fortunate turn of events for Montreal who didn't look very good at all.
Alex Kovalev scored the game-winner for Montreal during a 4-on-3 power play. Kovalev's shot went thru a defensemen legs and beated Tomas Vokoun.
Montreal will play the Philadelphia Flyers twice in a row on saturday and sunday.
