The Ovechkin show.
The Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals were playing each other for the second time this week, this time at the Verizon centre in Washington.
The Capitals' star player, Alexander Ovechkin, participated to every goal of his team in a 5-4 overtime victory. Ovechkin was hungry for some and scored four goals and added one assist.
As for the Canadiens, they played catch up all evening long. Down 0-3 during the second period, Montreal managed to come back within a single goal before the period expired. Sergei Kostitsyn registered his 5th goal of the season followed by his brother Andrei Kostitsyn who scored with just one second left on the clock.
Ovechkin gave another two-goal lead to his team halfway thru the third period with his third goal of the game but Guillaume Latendresse scored twice to tie up the game at 4-4. Latendresse's second goal of the game came with only 33 seconds to go to the game.
But the star of the evening scored his fourth goal of the game during the overtime period to finally register the victory for his team. With his four goals, Ovechkin now leads the league in scoring with 43 goals this season.
Montreal managed to score a point with the comeback during regulation. Montreal is now only five points behind the conference leaders who lost yesterday.

That would have been a game to watch...unfortunately, I do not believe Washington will play at Phoenix this year, so I have no chance to see Ovechkin. Except on TV, which is nowhere near as good as live.
The NHL schedule really needs improovement. How about the western teams who have never seen Crosby or Ovechkin yet.
Each team should face each other AT LEAST once a season.
